Benefits of Mushrooms

Medicinal Mushrooms

In Asia, mushrooms have been used in medicine to treat infections for hundreds of years. Today medicinal mushrooms are used to treat lung diseases, treat cancer, and to help boost an individual's system.

Turkey Tail Mushroom?

Turkey tail mushroom, also known as Trametes Versicolor, has been used in Chinese medicine to treat lung disease and in Japanese medicine to strengthen the immune system of cancer patients.

A clinical study found that 6-9 gram doses a day of Trametes Versicolor was associated with a "faster recovery of lymphocytes and NK cell activity, as well as increased numbers of CD8+T cells and CD19+B cells in patients with breast cancer.

How does this food help my gut?

Turkey tail mushrooms contain a prebiotic polysaccharide (PSP) that has been found to promote the production of good bacteria within your digestive tract.

These mushrooms also contain another polysaccharide (PSK) which helps to support your immune system. PSK and PSP work with your gut flora to maintain homeostasis in your digestive tract.

Chaga Mushrooms

The Chaga mushroom is found as an adaptogen. Adaptogens are found in unique plants and herbs and have been proven to help reduce stress and fatigue on the body.

The "stress-sensor" protein, Hsp70 plays an important role in regulating stress by inhibiting certain genes from producing cortisol, therefore, the levels of cortisol is lowered in the body and stress is reduced.
